Counter Propaganda propaganda paintings
This is an ongoing series of paintings that examines the mechanisms contemporary culture uses to shape perception, behavior and belief. Drawings from historical propaganda, advertising, anatomical diagrams, consumer imagery and mass communication. I incorporated trompe l’oeil objects as visual deception and manipulation to draw the viewers attention to their own susceptibility to propaganda that extends beyond the conscious mind. By fooling the eye, the paintings encourage viewers to question how images and ideas persuade, seduce. normalize and manipulate us.
